Student Created Apps
A Royal Battle with Events
Students learned about the coding concept of events and actions. In computer science, events cause actions to happen.
For example: Event- push up key on the keyboard --> Action- character moves up one step
Students used Blockly coding language to create a simple program using events and actions. Click the pictures below to see some of the games the 1st-graders programmed.

Click Run.
Use the arrow keys to move and capture all of the flags before the dragon catches you. See if you can find the hidden events in the game that students added to make their game unique (backgrounds, sounds, points, actions when you mouse click on the characters, etc.) Want to see all of the work? Click the "How it works" button to see the code. (Letter under each game is the first initial of the student who created it.) Keep watching! This page will be continuously updated to add more apps as students finish coding. |
